This is probably the best time for couples to elope in Arizona! Wildflowers are blooming, temperatures are comfortable, and while certain areas start seeing more tourists, it's still not considered peak season!

Spring (March- April)

Winter in Arizona can be a lot more tolerable compared to other states, with temperatures usually between 30-60 degrees. Tourism is at a low, which means you also get to enjoy some privacy during your elopement! Some areas in northern Arizona can even see snow, which looks stunning when it blankets amongst the red rocks and canyons!

Winter (December- february)

If you're dreaming of fall foliage and an elevated chance at seeing the northern lights for your elopement- Alaska during the fall is the perfect time for you to elope! While temperatures are dropping and the days are getting shorter, Alaska still has so much to offer during the fall!

Fall (Late September- october)

Arizona summers can be extremely intense, with low humidity and temperatures easily reaching 100-110 degrees. However, if you're planning an early morning or evening ceremony, summer is the perfect time to enjoy the vibrance of the state!
Summer is also a great time for eloping in Arizona if you are planning any water recreational activities, like kayaking, swimming, or going out on a boat!

Summer (May- September)

When choosing your destination and date for your elopement there are several factors to consider- such as tourism, weather, and scenery. Each season brings something unique to the table, and there are pros and cons to eloping in Arizona during every season!

The Best Time to Elope in Arizona:

If you're looking to obtain your marriage license in the state of Arizona, here's what you need to know and what you will need to bring when picking up your license:

  • Both parties must present in person a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport, military ID, or Tribal/BIA card.
  • There is no waiting period to pick up your marriage license.
  • Arizona requires two witnesses and an officiant to sign the marriage license.

A marriage license in Arizona costs $98.

FAQ ABOUT ELOPING in Arizona

"Do I need a permit to elope in Arizona?"

"Do I need a permit to elope in Arizona?"

Some locations, such as national parks and state parks, typically require a special use permit or a wedding ceremony permit when you are having a ceremony within the park. Some parks only require a permit if the wedding/ elopement will have over a certain number of people within your group. If you are just enjoying the park and having photos done, you may not need a permit for your elopement, but a photo/ film permit may be necessary for your photographer or videographer.
Be sure to check each location's regulations and requirements to ensure your elopement day goes as smooth as possible!
If you book your elopement experience with us, we will help you with all of the logistics and legalities of your elopement day!

"How much does it cost to elope in Arizona?"

"How much does it cost to elope in Arizona?"

You can elope in Arizona for as little as your marriage license! Marriage licenses in Arizona cost $98, and if you're visiting national or state parks you may need to pay an entry fee. We typically find that our couples spend anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000+ depending on what they have planned for their experience! Keep in mind that this also includes airefare, lodging for several nights, rental car, wedding attire, vendors, activities and more!
Choosing to elope doesn't necessarily mean choosing the cheaper option (though it definitely can be,) it just means you are investing into an experience that is worth the money! Think about it, you're basically having your dream vacation AND marrying your best friend!
